We will also evaluate your use of medications and drugs and alcohol, as these substances can influence your thinking ability and test performance. You should be prepared that full test taking can take up to six hours. Breaks will be provided between sections. The cognitive areas (thinking skills) covered in the assessment are as follows:
- General intellectual level
- Memory and learning
- Attention and concentration

One, to determine whether individuals meet certain job criteria, essential to successfully fulfill job requirements, and two, to help individuals find the right career path. The former is most often requested by employers to assist in the selection process of potential job candidates, whereas the later is often accessed by students interested know their vocational interest areas or by people facing career change.

HOW CAN VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENT HELP?
Vocational assessment will help reaching your full potential and will reward you financially in the long run. In terms of career satisfaction, there are few obstacles that can influence your sense of well being more than working in a position that you don't like or not well matched with. If you constantly force yourself to do something that you don't really enjoy, chances are that you want to spend as little time with the activity as possible. Consequently, you will earn substantially less than pursuing a career path that is consistent with your personality attributes, interests and potentials. In contrast, when you gain personal satisfaction from you chosen career, it is likely that you will happily engage with the activity, even if it means working long hours and sacrificing leisure time.
Vocational assessment aims to test different areas of your functioning, including personality, psychological well being, vocational interests and abilities, relevant to match you with the best possible career choice. Think of it as a long term investment. A well structured and individually tailored assessment can give you valuable information that you can use to make your final decision about your future career.
WHAT ARE WE TESTING?
1. Your personality characteristics, relevant to different career paths.
2. Your abilities (aptitudes) that are important to fulfill your potential.
3. Your broad and specific vocational interests to make sure that you will gain
personal satisfaction from your career.
standard vocational assessment involves:
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE ASSESSMENT?
Face to face interview
The interview is aimed at collecting relevant information, such as background, career path,
significant life events and current circumstances. The goal is to place the assessment within the most accurate personal context that reflects not only vocational information, but you as a whole person.
Psychological screening
The psychological screening serves as a clinical measure to evaluate emotional functioning.
Personality assessment
The personality assessment is one of the core components of the overall procedure. As opposed to a personality assessment that provides an overall profile, we aim to specifically identify personality characteristics that are later matched with the vocational test results. Hence, we look for personality characteristics that are directly relevant for career choices.
Ability assessment
The ability assessment component aims to identify intellectual and academic strengths and weaknesses. These include verbal and non-verbal abilities and basic academic skills.
Vocational test battery
We use vocational tests that were specifically developed and normed for Australians. This means that the test results rely on Australian standardisation samples. The test battery consists of tests that assess preferences for different work aspects (such as creativity, independence, self-development...etc.) and vocational interest areas (such as science, managerial,clerical...etc.).
Report
Our written reports are sent to you by registered mail, within two weeks of the assessment date. Immediate reports may be provided in special circumstances. These are prepared and mailed within two days of the assessment (Note: extra charge applies).
FEE STRUCTURE
The standard fee for an individual assessment that involves a one hour interview, psychological screening, personality assessment, ability assessment, a battery of vocational tests and a report is $1200.
